It’s been a pretty meh day after waving my dear friends Simon and Bev, and her royal majesty Princess Bella the cat goodbye, as they finally set off to continue sailing around the Med.
Without a doubt, two of the most amazing people I have ever met in my entire life, two people I’ve become incredibly close to over the last 6 months. Friends that I regard as nothing less than family, which all started one day in December when they asked me to go check something at the top of their mast.
From that moment the most incredible friendship grew. You know when people truly care about you more than you could ever imagine. They have helped me so much and really looked after me over the last 6 months. Let’s just say I’ve never eaten so much curry in my life .
There are not many people I feel I can truly count on in this world, but I can proudly say that they are two of them, and I have so much love and appreciation for them it frightening, something I simply cannot express enough.
Gosh, I love these people and that cat!
I really hope I get to catch up with them again at some point.
That’s one of the real downsides of sailing life, you get to meet some of the most amazing and extraordinary people you’ll ever meet in your life, some you grow incredible bonds with, but due to the nature of this business, there’s a lot of goodbyes, some incredibly difficult, such as this one today…
