Some friends of mine made an awesome little discovery painted on the harbour wall way out in the Azores Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
Some friends of mine have arrived in the Azores (islands off Portugal) after crossing the Atlantic from the Caribbean back to Europe and stumbled across an awesome mural on the harbour wall. It’s a thing that sailors do in some places. It was painted in 2008 by Rose Rambler’s previous owners and marks out some of the places she’s taken them in a nice creative little way. Definitely going to look for it when I land up there at some point.
This little boat of mine sure has been some places, she been around the world twice, two full circumnavigations around the globe by her 1st and 2nd owners, I’m her 4th owner and on a mission to take around for the 3rd time, the “hat trick”. The last time I counted the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) stickers on her mast inside the main cabin, I think I counted 8 times she’s crossed the Atlantic there and back now, which completely fills me with confidence for when I finally get to do my solo Atlantic crossing over to the Caribbean in the near future. It’s quite fascinating to know this boat has travelled and seen more places all over the world than most people will ever see in their lifetime, such a remarkable fete for this boat. One thing’s for sure, she’s sure got the mustard, just love her so much!
Massive thanks to Alex and Angie of Salty Toes for sending this over, such a good spot and an amazing little find.
